From the Free Press, & Kircaldy Guardian Saturday 2 July 1921 – “A golf club is being formed in the village land having bee leased from Mr R Lochhead., farmer, for a period of ten years. Over 50 members have already joined and the list is being kept open for some time so that everyone with a liking for the game may have an opportunity of joining up.”

A mixed fourball was played on the opening day on 6 August 1921. At this time there were 60 gentlemen members, mainly made up of railway and mine workers; 45 ladies; 1 juvenile. The annual subscriptions were; Gents £1/1s; Ladies 10s/6d; Juvenile 7s/6d.

From the Fife Free Press, & Kircaldy Guardian Saturday 13 August 1921 – “The new golf course was formally opened on Saturday afternoon. There was a splendid turnout of local enthusiasts, and a friendly match was played. This is a new venture, and it is hoped that the committee will receive every support and get the club established on a sound footing.”
