Mauchline Golf Club, Ayrshire. (1909 – WW1)
The club first appeared in 1909.
The first course was located at Bogwood. The club moved to a course at Templebogwood in June 1914.
Report on the opening of the golf course in May 1909.
Extract from a report from the Arbroath Herald Friday 30 July 1909 – “Approaching Mauchline we were fortunate in being in time to see the opening of Mauchline golf course. This course is on ground belonging to Lieutenant-Colonel W K Hamilton-Campbell, and consists of nine-holes. It was opened by the worthy Lieut.-Col., while Miss Hamilton-Campbell drove the first ball”.
