James Robb and Bobby Andrew played an exhibition match over the course when it opened in 1911.
(Robb and Andrew were both members of Prestwick St Nicholas and prominent amateur golfers of the time - Robb won the 1906 Amateur Championship)
A 9-hole course with a Par of 78 and a membership of between 80 and 100. Sunday play was not allowed. The station at Catrine was 10 minutes away with a bus service from Mauchline and Auchinleck.
In 1923 visitors’ fees were 6d a round, 1/- a day, 3/- a fortnight and 5/- a month.
In 1930 Course records were: (a) W McLelland, 73; (p) A W Butchart, 75. Visitors’ fees were 9d a round, 3/- a week and 7/6d a month.
