Südstrand Golf Club, Föhr. (1927 - 1968)
The original 9-hole golf course was laid out on the holiday island of Föhr at Südstrand. It was mainly designed by Bernhard von Limburger with construction supervised by the English golf professional A.Gregory.
The course opened for play in 1927.
Due to various reasons, but in particular, the increasing car traffic on a main road crossing the golf course, it was decided that a new home was needed.
The course was abandoned in 1968.
In 1970 a new 9-hole course was opened. It was designed by the English golf architect of Dutch origin Frank Pennink. This course was laid out a few kilometres to the west near the airport.
The current course can be seen on the Google Map below.
