Le Puy-en-Velay Golf Club, Haute-Loire (43). (1938 - WW2)
According to the “Guide Plumon 1938” the Le Puy-en-Velay club was planned to open in 1939 with a nine-hole course which measured 2,820 yards. It seems as though WW2 may have interfered with the plans but there are a couple of postcards showing that play was taking place. One of the postcards features two ladies putting the other shows the clubhouse.
Further evidence of the clubs existence was an entry in the 1947 Golfer’s Handbook. It stated that it was a nine-hole course and that there was a membership of 40. Visitors’ fees were; 10francs per day; 50 francs per week.
