The Manselton club first appeared in the 1920s, the club had disappeared by the end of WW2.

Result of mixed a mixed foursome competition played in July 1927; Miss A Rees and T Williams-Hughes beat Miss E J Gear and H Sampson; Miss M Williams and E Murphy beat Miss C Norman and J Ardern; Mrs G Demery and W Morris halved with Miss Davies and D M Williams; Miss E E Rees and D H Stephens beat Mrs J Ardern and B B Davies.
In September 1929 Graham Gregory (6) won the Evan C Davies Cup.
In October 1929 the final for the cup presented by Mr W R Francis (solicitor) Miss E I Gear beat Vera Demery by 6 and 4. Miss Gear has won the cup twice.
The winner of the competition for the Charles Morgan trophy played over 13-holes in July 1930 was W Morgan, clerk of works, Townhill, with a net score of 57. Runners-up; J C Gregory (chairman) and B Jones, 61.
In October 1930 the final of the W R Francis Cup Miss Elsie Irene Gear (Gendros Schools) beat Miss Marion Williams. Miss Gear had won the trophy on two previous occasions this being her third win the cup was now her property.

The following officers were re-elected at the annual meeting at the clubhouse in March 1932; J C Gregory, chairman; J Murphy, treasurer; D H Stephens, secretary; T R Howells was elected captain. D M Williams and R J Jones were voted to greens committee; S C Jones, W Morris and E Murphy to handicap committee.
In June 1933 A W Gregory was made honorary member of the Manselton Golf Club. On Saturday 10 June 1933 he won the Penllwynmarch Cup.

The annual meeting of the Ladies' section was held in November 1938 at the Grand Hotel, Swansea. The secretary, Miss P L Davies, reported a successful year. Miss J Hessey was elected captain and Mrs T J Williams vice-captain. The following were appointed to the committee; Captain, Vice-captain, Mrs Francis, Miss Mari Hughes, Miss D John and Miss Ann Rowlands. A vote of thanks was accorded to Mrs V D Cullis, retiring captain.

The land was taken over by the American Army in the run up to D-Day and many of the members are understood to have moved to Clyne Golf Club.
The professional at the club was T G Long.

It was reported in 1945 that land for the Swansea Housing scheme would include 1,235 acres of land near the Manselton golf course for the Penlan housing scheme.
