Talgarth Golf Club, Tregunter Park, Powys. (1920 - 1931)

At a public meeting held in July 1920 it was announced that Mr D P Hopkins of Bronllys Court had kindly given Tregunter Park as a site for the course. This was gratefully accepted by the members, who expressed their gratitude to Mr Hopkins in assisting to make what would be a splendid 9-hole course and which would doubtless prove a great asset to Talgarth.

In 1923, the following officers were appointed: President, Mr D P Hopkins, Bronllys Court; Captain, Dr P Drummond; Vice Captain, Dr Jayne; Treasurer, Mr T J Watkins; Sec, Major Tudor-Jones.

In June 1926 one of the notable features of the summer was the revival of interest in golf in the district; an influx of new members had helped revitalise the club. The new secretary was Mr W R Clark, Excise Offices, with Mr T Ivor Watkins of Hillcroft as treasurer.

In 1927 the secretary was Mr W R  Clark and the treasurer Mr A I Jordan of Barclays Bank.

The AGM in April 1928 was held at the Imperial Café. In his report the secretary referred to the bold step taken a year earlier, when the annual subscriptions had been reduced to 10/- for gents and 7/6d for ladies. The treasurer reported a balance in hand of £14/6/5, which was regarded as very satisfactory, especially in view of the somewhat experimental nature of the year.

In 1931 it was announced that Talgarth Golf Club was to be wound up. There was a credit balance of £16/10/0 in the bank and this was to be divided up in equal shares to the Bowling, Football, Tennis and Cricket clubs.
