Wrexham Golf Club, Stansty Park Course. (1906 - 1923)
Founded in 1906.
The first professional at the club was Syd Ball.
The fist course was at Stansty (9-holes) it stayed at this location until 1923 when the club moved to its present site at Borras.
In February 1908 the club rejected a proposal for Sunday golf.
Match played in June 1908.
George Gadd the new professional in March 1913.
George Gadd, as well as being a respected teacher, made many improvements and alterations to the Stansty course. His playing career was also prospering. In August 1913 he won the Welsh Professional Championship at Chester (Sealand), he represented Wales in the Sunningdale Foursomes and was seventh after the first round of The Open Championship at Prestwick in 1914. Following his demob in 1918 he became professional at Roehampton Golf Club.
A Bennett was professional just prior to WW1.
Move to the present course in 1923.
