Ystrad Mynach Golf Club, Hengoed, Caerphilly. (1920 - 1959)
First appeared in the early 1920s.
In 1923 the secretary was H Gabe-Jones, Bank Chambers, Hengoed, near Cardiff. The professional from the mid 1920s until the 1930s was F Hill. Originally a nine-hole course with a membership of 150. Visitors’ fees were 2/- a day. Sunday play was allowed without caddies. The station at Ystrad Mynach was about 1 mile from the course.

In 1926 the course had been extended to 18-holes. The green-keeper was H Smart. Course records were: amateur A E Taylor (83); professional F Hill (75).

In June 1927 the ladies' team visited Creigiau, the home side winning six games to one, Ystrad team; Miss D Williams (the only winner,) Miss Parry Jones, Miss Probert, Miss Packer, Mrs Gabe Jones, Mrs Button, Mrs Williamson.

In 1929 the three chief trophies of the club were won by D S Davies, vice-captain of the club. He won the President's Cup, the J S Sayers Cup and the Dr. Murchison Cup.
In the final of the Dr Murchison Cup in October 1930 D Davies defeated J Williams.

Winners of a mixed foursome played in August 1932 were Mrs J R C Jenkins and Andrew Bruce.
From the 1933 Golfer's Handbook; Membership of 130; secretary - J Wells Sproale, Meronva, Hengoed; professional and green-keeper, F Hill; nine-holes; visitors, 2s a day, 5s a week, 10s/6d a month.
In April 1933 E Roberts of Mountain House, Nelson, was appointed groundsman and green-keeper in succession to Frank E Hill who was appointed professional to Llanwern Golf Club.

In October 1936 an exhibition match was played between David Rees (Surbiton) and J Watt (R.A.C. Epsom). The young assistants played first over nine-holes Rees returning 36 to Watts 39. For the second nine-holes Rees was partnered by David Badham against Watt and Trevor Hopkins, Rees and Badham returning 39 to their opponents' 41.

At the annual meeting of the ladies' section in November 1939 Mrs J R C Jenkins, Narberth, a former secretary of the club, presented the cups and prizes. Mrs F L Hayes, was elected captain. Mrs Jerry Williams, vice-captain. Mrs R F Huggett, secretary. Mrs A P Bowen filled the one vacancy on the committee.
In 1940 the secretary was R G Jones, 10 Gwerthonor Road, Bargoed. The professional and green-keeper was Ted Roberts. It had now reverted to a 9-hole course with a SSS and Par of 72 and a membership of 110. Course records were: amateur D S Davies (72); professional E F Hill (67). Visitors’ fees were, 2/- a day, 5/- a week and 10/- a month.
The annual meeting was held in May 1944, the following officers were elected; President, D A Hann; Captain, E K Regan; Secretary, R F Huggett.
From 1947 to the club’s disappearance in the late 1950s the secretary was S E Morgan, 37 Pengam Road, Ystrad Mynach and the green-keeper J George. 9-holes with a SSS and Par of 72 membership was now 160. Course records were: amateur A F Hayes (68); professional E F Hill (67). Visitors’ fees were 2/6d a day, 7/6d a week and 21/- a month. Local hotels were the Beech Tree and Ye Olde Royal Oak.
