Mountain Lakes Golf Club, Caerphilly. (1988 - 2015)
The Mountain Lakes course was designed by R Sandow/J Page in 1988 to challenging championship standards. Bob Sandow was the early professional at Mountain Lakes, in the early 2000s the professional was S Bebb.
The complex was situated on the top of a Caerphilly Mountain with outstanding views. There was a fully licensed lounge and bar complete with hot and cold catering facilities a function suite and golf shop.
The golf complex originally consisted of two courses; Mountain Lakes was the eighteen-hole course and Castell Heights the nine-hole “Pay and Play” course.

In August 1995 Sion Bebb the Mountain lakes professional, took the honours at the newly opened Celtic Manor Pro-Am. Bebb carded a two under par 68 to claim the £650 first prize.

The club continued to be listed in the Golfer's Handbook until 2015 when it ceased publication.
The eighteen-hole Mountain Lakes course has now closed (2015). The Castell Heights nine-hole course is still in operation.
